No, Christian, You Were Not Set Free From the Law
When we come to Christ, we are trading in the law of sin and death that resides inside of us (Romans 7:23), and trading it in for what James calls “the perfect law, the law of liberty” (James 1:25).

I want it to be said of me: he gave everything for Him, for us.
Countless men and women fight a measureless battle to resist sin, intentionally choosing the harder path, and all to the glory of the Lord, trusting that His glory is a more worthy pursuit than their own desires. That’s biblical manhood and womanhood and, dare I say it, Christlikeness, at its pinnacle.
Preaching justification without encouraging sanctification will produce nominal, stagnant Christians who are no more capable of following God ten years down the line as they were ten years before. We’ve gone wide, but now we need to go deep.
The Kingdom of God is the new reality that we must press in to. It’s not something that we are awaiting to come, it has already come. It’s not some flickering hope in the dim future, it’s currently within our grasp now.
After you take the time to truly understand another person, when you are intentional about listening with the goal of understanding them, you find they become more human. They’re not a moral monster, a corrupt foe, or some deluded idiot. They are a human being that bears the image of your Creator, just as you do. They have hopes, dreams, and desires, just as you do. And they are pursuing Joy the best way they know how, just as you are.
